Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a IT Disaster Recovery and Continuity of Operations Analyst to work in our Information Technology (IT) department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls facility with every other Friday off. Remote or Hybrid work opportunities may be available for this position. You will be responsible for planning, establishing, and maintaining an IT disaster recovery and continuity of operations program that ensures the resilience and rapid recovery of IT systems and operations in the event of a disaster. The IT Disaster Recovery Program Owner will work closely with IT, security, and business departments to develop, implement, and oversee policies and procedures that minimize the impact of unexpected outages to business operations. You will report to the Deputy CIO and will have no direct reports. Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and maintain the IT disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Conduct risk assessments and business impact analyses to identify vulnerable areas and prioritize recovery strategies.
  • Coordinate with various IT and leaders to ensure understanding of the disaster recovery plans with organizational goals.
  • Design and plan disaster recovery solutions that meet recovery point objectives (RPOs) and recovery time objectives (RTOs).
  • Organize and manage regular testing of the disaster recovery procedures to ensure effectiveness and readiness.
  • Be a primary point of contact during a disaster, coordinating response efforts and communicating status updates to relevant parties.
  • Manage and plan the disaster recovery budget and resources, including vendor relationships and contracts.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on the status and effectiveness of the disaster recovery program.
  • Ensure all assigned activities are performed in a secure manner and observing applicable laboratory excellence procedures, within safety authorizations, following security plans and requirements, observing full compliance with Laboratory, state, federal policies, procedures, directives and regulations.
  • Provide technical reviews and input related to these IT system performance requirements, system level, and security procedures.
  • Responsible for software quality assurance and maintaining the appropriate quality training.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree and 9 years of relevant experience or Advanced Degree and 6 years' experience , or 15 Years' relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT disaster recovery planning, implementation , and testing.
  • Experience with IT infrastructure, data center operations, and cloud services.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in business continuity and IT disaster recovery, such as ISO 22301 and ITIL .
  • Experience developing and managing comprehensive disaster recovery plans.
  • Job This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
Job Information:
  • The pay range for this position is $91,008 - $186,588. At Idaho National Laboratory

  • TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
